Vehicle wrap FAQs
  • What is a vehicle wrap?

A vehicle wrap is an awesome, protective alternative to vehicle paint. It can be a single color or complex pattern/design. Our in-house graphic artists will design the wrap to your exact specifications. Then our talented team prints, laminates and installs it on your vehicle!

  • What is the process?

After contacting our vehicle wrap division, we will set up a meeting with you to go over your design ideas. We then require a 50% deposit to begin your custom vehicle wrap design. After your final approval we print and install the wrap in-house. For more detailed information, please visit our process page.

  • How much do vehicle wraps cost?

Every vehicle & application is different, so price really depends on the scope of your vehicle wrap project. A complete wrap includes door jambs, inner door frames, and sills — this level of vehicle coverage is recommended for those who desire a full color change. Partial wraps are priced lower, but ultimately will not have the same illusion as full coverage applications. The listed rates are base prices, and will vary depending on the vehicle type, surface complexity, and film used.

  • Does a vehicle wrap damage your paint?

Not at all. The wrap material does no damage, and actually protects your paint job from minor scratches, ultraviolet light, and the light pitting that can occur from highway impact with sand, grit and insects. Please inform us if the car has been repainted or repaired.

  • How long does a vehicle wrap last?

Typical life expectancy for a vehicle wrap is 3-5 years.

  • Can you remove vehicle wraps?

Absolutely. The wrap is applied to the vehicle using pressure-sensitive adhesives. Although the wrap will not come off by itself, it can be easily removed. The removal process is very short and any remaining adhesion residue is removed using isopropyl alcohol.

  • Can you wrap unpainted or primed vehicles (or body components)?

No. With primed and unpainted vehicles or body kits, the surface texture does not allow for proper adhesion of air egress vinyls, and makes the wrap prone to failure & lifting.

  • Can you install my vinyl wrap?

Because there are a lot of knock-off, low-quality films out there that aren’t designed for vehicle wrap applications, we don’t typically install from outside our stock. If you want help making a film selection just contact us for a recommendation.

  • How do I care for my vinyl wrap?

We recommend hand washing your vehicle with a non-abrasive sponge, soap and water. Do not high pressure wash the wrap, as it could cause the vinyl to tear or seams to peel. Avoid using ice scrapers on the windows that have perforated vinyl.

  • What is the difference between your satin clear & matte colors?

Primarily, the film thickness. Matte opaque options have become more and more popular for those wanting a complete color change, while our satin clear applications are tailored to those who simply want to change their factory paint finish while also adding a layer of protection.

  • Will a wrap protect my vehicle?

Most opaque and textured wrap films are thin and pliable so that they can stretch easily during application, and typically don’t offer much paint protection. However, some wrap films — specifically our satin clear applications — are so thick that they can add a layer of protection. Typical matte colored film is around 2-4 mm thick and won’t bear too much of an impact from rocks or chunky road debris, but satin clear is on par with standard clear bra protection at around 7-9 mm thick, keeping your paint that much safer.

  • What types/brands of vinyl do you have?

Since we work with such a diverse range of clientele with a wide array of tastes and styles, we install just about every film brand — 3M, Avery, Oracal, Hexus, KPMF– you name it, we’ve used it (and some custom ones, too!). If there’s a specific film you want to use, let us know and we’ll get it for your vehicle at the best price available. We can even special order a one-off film, create a custom printed design, or track down something unique if you really want to break away from the pack!

  • Is this wrap really a better value?

As the age old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Our prices reflect the quality of work that goes into each installation, and our installs are incredibly thorough & time consuming. Cheap/speedy installs lead to bladed-up cars, improperly applied films not given enough time to breathe, and ultimately a shorter life span for the wrap. Also, most installers will not offer any sort of application warranty if the wrap film fails. Not only do we make sure that your vehicle’s exterior is spotlessly clean to ensure proper adhesion, but we also go the distance in disassembling your vehicle prior to wrapping. That means no unnecessary seams, bad cuts, or messy edges. If the film we supplied fails, bring it in and we’ll make it right until you’re satisfied with the results.

  • How long does a vehicle wrap take to install?

If the wrap is our primary focus, turnaround time can be less than a week depending on complexity. Stripes, graphics & accent pieces can typically be completed in 24 – 72 hours, but exterior wraps or full color changes with door jambs will take considerably longer. Installation times will vary depending on the project and when it’s scheduled. If you’re on a deadline and want to expedite your install, just let us know what the time frame is and we’ll factor it in when we set up your appointment.

  • Do you offer discounts on vehicle wraps?

    Yes, for the following cases:
    1. Fleet programs. Prices can drastically change if you are wrapping only one vehicle vs. wrapping your whole fleet.
    2. Cross-promotional joint ventures merging company brands within one wrap.
    3. Multi-service needs (for example: storefront graphics, window tint for your place of business, wall graphics, lobby display signs, etc).

  • Are vehicle wraps road legal?

In most cases, yes. While the jury is still out on the legality of vehicle wraps in some states due to their recent rise in popularity, we have heard of action being taken to limit certain films from road use by regulating their production size. Varieties of chrome & reflective films are intended for off road use only or for minor graphical additions as opposed to total car coverage, but currently there are no state laws barring color changes via vehicle wrap, or that require you to re-register the new color.

  • Does my vehicle need to be clean before I can wrap it?

Most definitely. Dirt and contaminants on your exterior would be trapped under the film, posing greater harm to your paint and eventually causing the wrap to fail. Thus, we must require a full 24- step hand wash and clay bar decontamination before the wrap is applied.

  • What happens if my wrap gets damaged?

There are a few courses of action we can take depending on how your wrap gets damaged, where the damage occurred, and how extensive it is. Worst case scenario, the wrap must be removed entirely, but more than likely we will be able to pull a section of the wrap and replace it with a new piece of film that was left over from your installation. Depending on the design or layout of your wrap and where the damage is located, we may need to reprint graphics or patch an area.

  • Do you offer printed, branded, or customized vehicle wraps?

This is our specialty! If you already have a design mocked up and simply need to get film printed and applied, or you want us to take it all the way from concept to completion, we would be glad to assist in professionally designing and installing a vehicle wrap for your personal or company fleet vehicles.
